SITUATION

When people talk about "the American family," they often refer to a white, cisgender, and heterosexual family. However, the reality is that there is no single definition of an American family. In fact, the most underrepresented families are those who do not conform to traditional expectations, such as LGBTQ families.

IDEA

The Center created holiday postcards featuring LGBTQ families from Orange County. They also shared their unique and inspiring stories in short interviews posted on social media. Showing that LGBTQ families exist not only during Pride month, but every day, and especially during the holidays.
